I went back to work yesterday for the first time since my surgery.
Today I went out to get the newspaper before leaving for work. I was all dressed and ready to go. It looked like it had rained out overnight but what I didn’t know was that it was glare ice. The first step on the porch with my right foot and I slipped, I put my left foot down to try and catch myself, and this is the leg that had the surgery, and of course that was worthless. I continued slipping off the porch on my left foot, landing my right foot down off the porch and by now I was leaning about 30 degrees to the right.
Luckily I landed on my right side and just laid there for a few seconds to try and figure out what happened. I finally worked my way over to the grass to be able to get up and get the paper. I carefully walked back in with some thigh pain.
After calling into work about what happened, I drove myself back to the Doctor for an x-ray. Thank God the hip and bones were intact but the muscles got pretty screwed up. Had to rest all weekend on pain pills and muscle relaxers.
Will I ever be able to walk normally again???
