I found this in the local paper last summer and finally scanned it.
Apparently this is the only good picture the family had, his mug shot.

Matthew’s band competition this year
Matthew plays percussion in high school now.
Every year, they have a band competition they call a ‘band festival’ It’s sponsored by the Michigan School Band and Orchestra Association.
For the section he’s in, they had it this year over in Warren Michigan.
This year, he took the bus from the school with the rest of the band. Sandy and I met him at the school where they were all competing so this year I didn’t have to spend time sitting around. We watched them perform three pieces and two sight reading parts.
I didn’t stay to find out how they ranked but should find out this week.
