Detroit’s Kwame Kilpatrick is now EX-Mayor!

September 04, 2008 By: Mark Category: Blogging topics, News clips

Detroit now can call him ex-mayor Kilpatrick. Just a while ago he pleaded guilty to two felony charges.
He also plead no contest to the assault charge of pushing a process server.

Funny thing too which really rubs salt in the wounds of Detroit is that he gave salary raises to most of his close appointed officials, which include the police chief.
The chief of police then announced her retirement during the ex-mayor’s plea hearing. Those pay raises now give them more money for their pension calculations.

The city is so financially strapped and he gives away money like that?

The city just took a big hit today with all of these dominos going down.

The Mayor’s at it again.

July 26, 2008 By: Mark Category: Blogging topics, News clips

I found these pictures of Detroit’s Mayor Kwame Kilpatrick kind of funny. Currently he’s embroiled in a text messaging scandal with one of his female staff.

In this image he’s either trying to bury the text messages or digging his own grave.

The Mayor digging

Looks like he found himself another lady friend.

The City of Detroit is really boned.

April 05, 2008 By: Mark Category: My stuff, News clips

Here’s just what is in today’s Detroit Free Press….

They took all the T.V.’s out of the Detroit Police Department facilities. Rumor is that when the Mayor was indicted, all the police officers watching cheered. That didn’t go over too well with the upper ranks who are aligned with the Mayor.

Christine Beatty, the Mayor’s “sideline whore” was job hunting out of state in Atlanta and Alabama. When the court found out, they order her and her attorneys into court behind closed doors. The judge ordered her to stay within Michigan and has her now on an electronic tether. She’s currently out on $75,000 personal bond for perjury and obstruction of justice in connection with the text message scandal with the Mayor.

One of the city lawyers who was part of the “secret” deal to settle the wrongful termination lawsuit which in turn, brought out into the open the Mayor’s sexy text messages, is now changing her story. She originally told the court she wasn’t aware of signing any confidentiality agreement on the wrongful termination suit. Now she issues a letter to the court that she recalls signing it.

How much more bullshit is going to come out of this city’s leaders? I think Coleman Young’s ghost still haunts the city with this crew of idiot leaders.

Chrysler exec quits

March 27, 2008 By: Mark Category: News clips

My company just keeps on changing. The “Home Depot Crew” think that speed and change is a good thing. Yes, to a point. Everyone is so off balance that a lot of people are having a tough time keeping up. Although it’s touted as moving the company forward and streamlining (fill in all the other buzzwords), the working level people are losing focus.

Higgins, Tim (2008, March). Chrysler shuffles development execs again. Retrieved March 28, 2008, from Detroit Free Press Web site: http://www.freep.com/apps/pbcs.dll/article?AID=2008803260313

For the second time in two months, Chrysler LLC has announced changes to the ranks of top executives overseeing vehicle development.

Donoughe image The latest shakeup comes with the departure of Michael Donoughe, the Chrysler vice president who had been leading the efforts to come up with future product in the midsize car segment.

The Wall Street Journal, citing unnamed people familiar with the matter, said late Tuesday that Donoughe left in a dispute with senior managers.

David Barnas, a Chrysler spokesman, declined to talk about why Donoughe left other than to say: “Chrysler denies that the departure had anything to do with a clash with management.”

In late January, Chrysler announced a reorganization of its product development and said that Donoughe would lead future midsize car development, calling it “an important vehicle category worldwide.”

His job on the so-called Project D is believed to have begun last fall after Bob Nardelli took over as Chrysler’s chief executive. Previously, Donoughe had overseen key vehicles such as the Dodge Ram and Jeep Wrangler.

Chrysler’s current lineup of midsize cars — the Chrysler Sebring and Dodge Avenger — has struggled and the company is trying to better compete.

Chernoby image With Donoughe’s departure, Chrysler has turned to Mark Chernoby to lead development of a new midsize car as vice president and chief engineer for Chrysler’s future midsize product team.Chernoby had been vice president of core components, processes and international engineering.

Issner image James Issner replaces Chernoby in that role. Issner had been vice president of advance vehicle engineering.

Rhodes image Lou Rhodes, who is president of Chrysler’s ENVI — an effort to bring electric-drive vehicles and related advanced-propulsion technologies to market — will take on the additional title of vice president of advance vehicle engineering.
