City of Detroit Kym Worthy just annouced that the city has brought a total of 12 charges against the Mayor and his “sideline whore” Christine Beatty.

As I listen to this announcement live on TV, I feel bad that Ms. Worthy’s speech sounds like it was written by a college student and read like a college freshman. This announcement is going out live to all the major news networks but heck, she’s all we’ve got. I hope she gets some type of conviction in this whole thing.

Look at Elliot Spitzer, the governer of New York who was caught with his pants down. He gracefully resigned, as did Christine Beatty when this whole story broke.

Based on the behavior of the mayor in this whole scandal, he’s just going to tell the city to “Fuck off” and go on doing what he always does. At least Coleman Young kept a lot of his shenanigans low profile and never got this far.

The funny thing about this city is that the people that live here will say he should stay in office… he’s allowed to make mistakes… he’s done a good job… , there’s no logic to any of these statements. The people in the city of Detroit are so beat down by the economy and the state of the city that they just don’t want to speak up and put this guy out of office.

Chrysler announced they will be closing their twenty person design studio in California.
The article states that “we are leveraging resources worldwide”.

Now think about this…
Bob Nardelli is running the company. He was at GE but most recently he was CEO of Home Depot.
I guess his thinking is that at Home Depot we stocked the shelves with items at the lowest price we could get them and customers would come in a buy what they needed. HD would then make a tidy profit.

I can see it where all Chrysler vehicles are going to be supplied and built by the cheapest material and labor force, put “on the shelf” and customers come in and buy them. Gradually all the design activity will be done by these suppliers. There may be a skeleton group of Chrysler employees that oversee the purchasing and maybe the quality but really Chrysler will just become another storefront, reselling goods designed and built by others. Kind of like toilets, faucets, lumber, nuts & bolts. Home Depot itself never designed or manufactured anything.

Tom Lasorda, the President and Vice-Chairman gets a $15.7 million bonus for doing the deal with Cerberus to get the Chrysler group out from under Daimler.

In all he has a bonus (or compensation package) for 2007 of $20.7 million.

What the hell does he do with all of that? What expertise does somebody have that commands these types of bonuses?

After all this turmoil about lead in paint, toxic dog food, and now problems with the blood thinner Heparin, I think the Chinese are trying to kill us!
Baxter, who is one of the large drug producers, has been asked to recall their Heparin due to what could be defective ingredients made in China.

…officials did say that a preliminary inspection report found the Chinese facility, which is no longer manufacturing raw heparin, had “issues with waste material flow” and “deficiencies related to equipment.” Inspectors are also trying to follow the chain “upstream,” to include suppliers of the Chinese manufacturing plant.

The mayor of Detroit, Kwame Kilpatrick, finally screwed himself good by lying under oath.  It was all caught in text messages to his sideline whore, Chief of Staff, Christine Beatty.  They lied in a during the trial of two Detroit Police officers regarding a wrongful termination suit.  Kwame and Christine both said under oath that they did not screw each other but the text messages say otherwise.

They also discussed in their text messages about the firing of the two police officers.   Clearly the cops rightfully won their $9 million lawsuit!

What’s kinda cool about all this is that because they are public officials, the text messages are archived in case there is litigation against the city.
Had they used their personal phones or text page devices, none of this would have been  discovered.  It all came about when one of the local news agencies
here in the city requested the text messages as  part of the Freedom of Information Act.

This guy has been in the news more for his lifestyle and personal problems than for what  he’s done for the city.  It’s Coleman Young all over again, just
dressed in way expensive suits.
