Smart Stuff

This is where I keep my silly ideas.

1. I had my hip replaced and the few days back really needed a shower but my surgical dressing could not get wet.  I thought about the sticky back Saran Wrap we have and tore off a piece big enough to cover my dressing and stick to my thigh.  It worked pretty good keeping the water out, just don’t expose it to a direct spray.

2. Make a pen microphone:  get an old computer headset/microphone, bust it open and take out the microphone element, keep the wire lead, hollow out a pen with holes at the end of the cap.  Snake the wire up the back end of the pen, solder the element onto the wires, push element up into cap.  Now close the pen and you have a stealth microphone.

3. I hate those child-proof caps on mouthwash bottles.  I take the cap off, get a pair of toenail clippers and cut off the two wings that stick out and lock the cap.  Cut them flush to the bottle.  It takes a little work to cut through the plastic so you may have the take them off in several small snips.
Now you don’t have to squeeze the cap on the sides to unscrew it.
